A Message From our District 10 Governor Sheryl Flanagin

Honoring the Past and Empowering the Future

Dear D10 Zontians,

Get ready. Get set. Go!  It’s not just any new year: it’s our 100th celebration! What an accomplishment!
As we embark on this journey through the new year, I envision good things for Zonta.  Working toward our goals will insure that our year is successful.  Let’s remember these goals:

Support Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women and the Call to End Child Marriage.
Implement the Women in Technology Scholarship.
Increase membership.
Utilize the leadership training program.
Support our student clubs.
Continue our support of ZIF.
Enhance our profile through our centennial anniversary activities.
Share our stories.

As we work toward these goals, let’s think about the Golden Circle. “Why” do we do what we do?  We believe in making the world a better place by working toward gender equality in a supportive community of like-minded people.  “How “do we do what we do?  Through our service and advocacy. “What” do we do? We empower women.

In the remainder of this first year of the new biennium, I look forward to seeing you at the following:

Area 1 Meeting:  April 6, Zonta Club of Central Oklahoma (held in Sulphur, Oklahoma)
Area 2 Meeting:  March 30, Zonta Club of Shreveport
Area 3 Meeting:  April 13,  Zonta Club of Fredericksburg
North American Interdistrict Meeting (NAIDM): June 7-9, Dallas

Our area meetings are a wonderful time to receive helpful information and to reconnect with our friends.  Of course, we always make time for fun!  If you are unable to attend your own area’s meeting, please, know that you are welcome to attend any of the other two.  Calls to Meeting will be posted on our D10 website. With NAIDM being held in Dallas, we also have a great opportunity.   The North American Interdistrict Meeting offers you valuable workshops often led by ZI committee chairs, inspiring speakers, and the chance to meet our ZI board.

I’m excited about all these opportunities and can’t wait to share them with you.

My wish for you is a happy, healthy, prosperous new year!

All my best,

Sheryl
